Learning with a Purpose
“The whole reason that we learn folks’ language and culture is so that we can learn to see through their eyeglasses, and see the world as they see it,” the Zooks shared. “Learning this makes us more effective teachers.”
That being said, Rick and Anji recognize that head knowledge alone is not enough. There needs to be a heart relationship with the Lord if the vision of a thriving church for every people is to become a reality.
Learning to Be Like Jesus
“[We] need to have the lifelong attitude of a learner,” they said. “And the best place to learn is sitting at Jesus’ feet. He has promised us a lifetime of opportunities to grow in our daily walk with Him, to become more like Him.”
Pray for missionaries to do just that, to take time in their schedules full of interruptions to sit at Jesus’ feet and learn from Him.
