For the third year, NTM Aviation is in the running for a $10,000 grant from Lightspeed Aviation. Each of the last two years, NTM Aviation has come in second and received smaller — but still helpful — awards.

This year, any grant from Lightspeed will go toward a Robinson R66 helicopter that NTM Aviation wishes to put into service in the Philippines.

2015-09-07 philippines 02Because the R66 can operate at higher altitudes and carry larger loads, it’s “the next logical step” in establishing churches among indigenous people groups in the Philippines, according to NTM Aviation pilot Josh Dalton.

“Areas that we never dreamed of locating missionaries because of their inaccessibility will be within easy reach,” he added.
