A small church exists in the Nahuatl people group of Mexico, and the missionaries continue to teach and disciple the young believers. As the missionaries taught through the Gospels and Acts, the Nahuatl church heard about New Testament believers getting “dunked” as a symbol of their faith. At first, the Nahuatl thought the idea was crazy because their animistic beliefs promote a fear of being submerged in water.

But through the teaching of the Scriptures and the Holy Spirit, some of the believers decided to be baptized. They waited until the rainy season came to their village in the desert, and then they set a date. Twelve believers, mostly women and children, were baptized. They faced their fear of water and declared publicly that Jesus alone was their salvation. Praise God with us for changed lives!
