Dan and Judy Burke minister among the Chimane people of Bolivia. Back in April they wrote, “The quarantine drags on, and we just now received word that they are extending our quarantine. We were completely expecting that. Yesterday, they came through our neighbourhood disinfecting the streets and announcing that everyone must stay inside. There is to be a mat soaked in bleach to wipe your shoes off as you come in your house, and you should have alcohol to wash your hands with. Nothing new, just more of the same. The challenge for us is just to keep our noses to the grindstone. Instead of focusing on what we can’t do, we need to stick with what we can do and just keep on doing it! So, Dan keeps the copy machine running, although he has put in our last toner cartridge now. When that runs out, printing will come to a halt. But do not despair, there is much more to do. Dan went over the commentary that he had written on the book of Acts one more time. Then he looked over and made some suggestions on all the chronological Bible lessons that I am writing up. Now he is picking up working on writing a commentary on the book of Romans in Chimane. We are benefiting from our co-worker Sarah Lattin being quarantined too. She has had a lot more time to make copies of books for us. She recently completed 400 copies of the Chimane reading primers, and we are grateful to her for donating her time and energy.” Pray for the progress the Burkes can make during this time.
The prayer request above is one of five that we emailed to the Ethnos Prayer Team on Saturday.
