It was an exciting time for the Maka church. They celebrated a grand dedication of the recently finished New Testament along with Genesis and Exodus 1-20.
What was “started many years ago by missionaries Marv and Dee Cole and finally finished now thanks to the selfless work, effort, dedication, discipline and much much love for the Maka people by missionaries Rosemary and Matthew Ulrich,” write missionaries Samuel and Tracy Recalde.
There’s been great celebration and gratitude for the light of the Word of God and how it’s shined to turn darkness into light and desperation into joy and peace.
The Maka church helped Matt and Rosemary in planning and carrying out this dedication. They made sure that everyone in attendance understood by sharing in Spanish, Maka and some Guarani.
There was prayer, special music and performances of traditional dance. For everyone who attended a celebratory feast was served. Many words of gratitude to God, the translation helpers and the missionaries for all the hard work were expressed.
Special copies of the Word of God were given to the chief and his wife, as well as the missionaries involved in the translation work.
